My Summary
About Me
My name is Maria. I am a 22-year-old girl who just finished her degree in Biomedical Sciences. I’m now working as a Support worker with people with learning disabilities in Milton. I love my job and I want to do a postgraduate related with children with special needs or LD nursing. I’ve also been working as a TA in SEND schools so I also have teaching experience and am happy to help your child with their homework or any area of teaching. I love children and babies. I have done a lot of volunteering with children, including being a monitor at the Red Cross in Madrid for almost 3 years. I have experience with children of all ages and I can speak two languages, which means that if you want I can try to introduce your child to Spanish. I can also assure you that your children will be treated with a lot of love and respect. I’m super flexible but I may need to establish in advance the days when you need my help in order to be able to organise myself with my other job.
I’m open for any interviews and can also give references and phones contacts from other parents so you can receive feedback from me.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me ?
My Experience
I have a lot of experience with children from all ages! Apart from having two little sisters whom I have raised since they were babies, also from the age of 16 to 19 I was volunteering with the Spanish Red Cross with children. They were children who, unfortunately, were at risk of social exclusion, and we volunteers did playful and dynamic activities with them to make their lives a little happier! After that I moved to England to work as an au pair with a wonderful family in Newbury. I was with them for a year. The children were 6 and 8 years old and the truth was that it was one of the best experiences of my life. I also did some babysitting in Spain before I moved, with a 3 year old girl and an 8 month old baby, and here, I’m Cambridge, with two boys of 8 and 10 years old and with a toodler of 1year and 6months.
My Qualifications
Currently I have my DBS updated, since I work as a support worker and it is something that I need. Volunteering at the Red Cross also provided me with numerous trainings with which I learned many things and which I have applied to my later jobs as a babysitter.
My Availability
My contract as a suppor worker is 20 hours per week, and my schedule varies every week, although I have many days off. Everything would be a matter of talking about it in advance and making it clear to me what days and hours you need me. But preferably I’m looking for a regular babysitting job every afternoon (after 3/3:30pm). Let me know if this works for you!?
