About Me
I am a student in my third year at the University of Glasgow studying an MA(SocSci) in Politics and Sociology.
I am keen to gain a PGDE in either primary or secondary teaching in the future.
In my spare time, I love to cook, paint, play the trumpet and piano, and play frisbee with the UofG Ultimate Frisbee team.
My Experience
I have strong experience working with kids of a variety of ages and backgrounds.
I have a lot of experience babysitting for younger children especially, between the ages of 2 and 10, and am flexible in that I have both done evening and daytime work. Key responsibilities for this role included: taking the children to and from school/ nursery; preparing meals; maintaining upmost physical safety; taking the children to the toilet; playing with the children, and putting the children to bed; helping them with their homework; comforting children if they felt upset yet staying stern in more serious situations.
I have also volunteered with Girlguiding Scotland for 5 years (both in Rainbows and Guides) and am currently working towards my adult leadership qualification.
Furthermore, my role as a multi sports coach at kids holiday camps, means that I have strong leadership skills, work well under pressure, and am ultimately very passionate about engaging with and having fun with the kids in my care.
My Qualifications
6 A’s at SQA National 5’s (Maths, English, Physics, History, Art, Chemistry).
7 A’s at SQA Highers (Maths, English, Physics, History, Art, Music, French).
An A (History) and a B (Physics) at SQA Advanced Higher level.
I also have qualifications in ABRSM Grade 5 music theory, ABRSM Grade 7 piano, and Trinity trumpet at Grade 8.
I have 2 PVG qualifications and will be starting first aid training in the summer.
