My Summary

My Experience

I have a range of experience working with children - primarily newborn to preschool.

I have worked in two private nurseries and with children from 6 months to 5 years old. I love working in these educational settings and the challenges they bring.

My partners parents foster young children so we are always meeting lovely new family members. As a very close family we all do our part to make every child welcome, whether they stay for a few days or a couple of years. These children often come straight from hospital so I have cared for countless beautiful newborns over the years. I also provided 1-1 care for one of these children - a lovely 3 year old boy - for a summer before he moved to Glasgow with his forever family. This was a wonderful and deeply rewarding experience.

Since starting nannying full time I have worked with E from 4 weeks old to 20 weeks old. I supported her parents with their daily routine including feeding, changing and naps. I also too E out for daily walks and provided thoughtfully planned play times for them including: tummy time, stories and songs, and sensory experiences.

I have also worked with M (18 months). While their parents worked M and I would enjoy morning walks around the local area, through the woods and along the river. M loved this opportunity to play and explore. I would also change M and put them down for a sleep during the day as well as supporting them to eat independently. For M I would follow their interests/needs when providing afternoon activities including music and dance, sensory play, and story time.

For the last year I have cared for twins K & L full time (From 4 months). I have absolutely loved this job but am so excited to spend my last month helping them get ready for nursery. My work with them covered all parts of the day from waking up and breakfast right through to bath and bed time. I was responsible for preparing healthy meals and snacks, attending to their personal care (toothbrushing, bath time, nappy changing), planning fun stimulating activities to facilitate their progress and attending weekly playgroup and classes with them.

My Qualifications

BA Professional Development (3 years study in Primary Education)

Certificate of Higher Education in Early Childhood - studying for now alongside working.
