About Me
My approach to tuition is to create a relaxed environment to support young people in their learning. Whilst I can tutor in single subjects or preparation towards tests, I also like to use project based learning, where appropriate, to support young people developing their reading and mathematics through research skills, learning about subjects that interest them. Writing skills will then be developed in a meaningful way to present their information. I am also happy to undertake wellbeing and holistic activities to develop the whole child rather than an academic focus. Sessions can be booked for individuals or small groups, carers are welcome to join in.
During the summer holidays I am also co-running Hannah and Caroline's Forest Explorers.
My Experience
I originally trained as a primary teacher and have experience teaching in the classroom from Foundation Stage 2 - Year 6 six. I am currently privately tutoring to plug in the gaps and build confidence in the core primary subjects, in addition to this, I work with Looked After children and those with additional needs, both in primary and secondary education. I also have experience teaching English as an additional language.
Whilst teaching in mainstream school, over the years I led a range of subjects including art and design, PSHE, reading, writing and phonics.
I have Teaching English as a Foreign (TEFL) trying and I am currently undertaking Autism training.

My Availability
I have a mixture of face to face and online availability during the school day and after 7pm weekday evenings. Please get in touch for my most current or future availability.
