My Summary

My Experience

I`ve been preparing for this role for a long time as I started tutoring young, by playing "Teacher, Teacher" with my younger brother in which I began to teach him his times tables. Since then, I`ve taught Mathematics abroad and have partaken in work experiences revolving around Teaching, such as the University of Cape Town`s Course on the inclusion of Deaf culture and students in education and another regarding the industry`s functioning, both in the UK and elsewhere.

I offer tuition for both Geography, Maths and Sciences until the GCSE Level. Although I`ve only formally taught Maths, I took Biology, Chemistry and Geography at A Level and now hoping to progress onto Geography at University.

Relevant Work Experience:

In December 2020, I took part in a virtual course hosted by the University of Cape Town on the inclusion of Deaf Children in the classroom environment. My responsibilities included completing assignments and readings, while conducting independent research into the importance of Deaf culture. This also sparked an interest in BSL (British Sign Language), and I can now speak it at a Foundation level.

In February 2021, I arranged and hosted a Virtual webinar discussing different methods of studying and how to do so successfully. My job was to make the PowerPoints that were easy to understand while simultaneously marketing the event and encouraging attendees to arrive.

In June 2021, I was a apart of SpringPod's Virtual Teaching Work Experience, in which I was taken through the inner workings of the teaching profession in the UK. I completed interactive quizzes using the knowledge I gained throughout the course and was lucky enough to interact with teachers from a range of communities.

My Availability

Please note these sessions are online only.

Weekdays:
During holidays -> Am free anytime from starting 10am and finishing by 7pm
During term time -> Am free anytime from starting 4.30pm and finishing by 7pm

Weekends
Am free anytime from starting 3.30pm and finishing by 9pm

However, if either me or tutee need to cancel the session, both of us should aim for 24 hours notice.

My Fees

• Tutoring from £7.50 per hour

First session is completely free. In this, I would introduce myself and the tutee would introduce themselves. The parent/carer may also do so if they wish. In this session, I'll also ask questions and the overall aim is to understand what you require from me as a tutor.

From then on, the price is £10 per hour if sessions are booked individually.
However, the following bulk purchases are available:
5 hours -> £45 (hence £9 per hour)
8 hours -> £64 (hence £8 per hour)
10 hours -> £75 (hence £7.50 per hour)
