My Summary
About Me
Providing engaging learning support across a range of subjects & promoting values of mutual respect, concentration, and kindness.
I am passionate about promoting education through play and hands-on interaction and keen to support your children with anything they might need help with while I’m caring for them. My own passions include: music, art, textiles and fibre arts, writing, nature and mindfulness practice.
My Experience
Having grown up with two energetic younger siblings, supporting little ones is second nature to me, and I take a lot of pride and joy from doing so. With my dad at hand on the end of a phone, I began babysitting locally aged 13, caring for children as young as 1, up to my own age at that time! Shortly after, I began tutoring children in my town in the basics of guitar and bass guitar, and would teach them right up until they were as good as me when I would have to hand them over to a qualified grown-up!
Throughout my GCSEs and A-Levels, I continued my tutoring experiences, helping students to attain a C grade in French, Maths and English. Seeing students gain confidence in themselves over the weeks we spent together was very rewarding.
My more recent experience as a nursery worker has really solidified my confidence in EYFS, I never expected to love working with babies and under 4s as much as I do, and I learned from a lot of amazing childcare specialists during my time there.
I have spent the last 20 months volunteering (developing accessibility and inclusion policy with local organisations) rather than working while I have been learning to deal with some changes in my health. Taking the time out was really beneficial and has allowed me to learn about my new capacity and how best to work sustainably. I'm raring to get back to work now and I hope you'll see this as the positive I believe it is.
I have worked as a venue manager, marketing professional, copywriter and freelancer, and gained a broad array of different skills and experiences, but I'm looking to settle into working in a field I am really passionate about, supporting learning and supporting children to grow into happy, healthy, fulfilled adults.
