About Me
Hi! I'm a 20 year old student living in Brighton. I am passionate about children reading, when reading to children I like to do voices and encourage them to get involved in the story by asking them about the book and the characters, this helps their engagement and helps further their literary skills. I also love crafts, depending on the age group I would do colouring, making collages, painting, creating things out of cardboard or clay and designing fun cards for birthdays, holidays or parents. I am able to help children of all ages with their homework, listen to their needs and parents' needs and follow parents' guidance on their children's care.
My Experience
I volunteered at mixed-gender cubs and scout groups, I organised activities like parachute games, board games, puzzles and jigsaws. I also supervised the children on trips and taught them skills like cooking, crafts and group activities. The group activities included treasure hunts and sports games, rounders and obstacle courses were among the favourites. At the end of the evening, I also supervised home time and helped clean the hall after the meetings.
My Qualifications
I do not have childcare qualifications but I do have experience volunteering with children ages 7 to 12.
My Availability
I am available for after-school pick-up and childcare into the evenings on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I am also available for occasional childcare on the weekend and in the evenings.
