My Summary
About Me
I have lived in Tamworth for 12 years with my Husband and our 2 boys, aged 8 and 5. We also have a dog, Hendrix and a rabbit, Matlida, as well as a feast of wildlife int he garden including frogs and foxes! I love animals from ants to elephants, although chickens do make me nervous! I enjoy travelling; exploring the world and the UK in our campervan, and thrive on being outdoors. I bring my enthusiasm (but not always expertise's) in arts and crafts, story telling, singing and dancing to my childcare and love nothing more than plotting, planning, designing and making. I look forward to welcoming each Child and their families to join with ours.
My Experience
After working for many years as an early years and special needs teacher I made the move to being an outdoor Kindergarten Manager. Following an injury I had to have a rethink and decided to take full advantage of my lovely home and even lovelier garden and set up as a childminder with an emphasis on nurture and nature. I bring with me a wealth of skills, experience and understanding that all children learn and play in their own way.
In 2017 I qualified as a Forest School Leader, as well as a nurture group practitioner. Aside from my education degree I also hold a post graduate award in supporting children with additional needs and have a specialism in early communication and language development being certificated in PECS and speaker of Makaton as well as basic French and Polish.
My Qualifications
I hold a BA(QTS) degree in Primary and Early Years Education as well as a Post Graduate Certificate in Supporting People with Special Educational Needs. I am a Lever 3 qualified Forest School Leader.
I have up to date training in safe guarding, first aid, food hygiene and the new EYFS framework
