My Summary
About Me
I am an experienced and professionally qualified primary school teacher and have worked as both a class teacher and deputy head for the past 25 years in the UK and for a short period internationally.
All schools and classes I have worked in, as both a teacher and senior leader, have been deemed to be outstanding with consistently above average attainment.
My belief is that primary education should build strong, positive and aspirational foundations for our young learners. As an educator my role is to support and enable students to successfully develop the crucial knowledge, skills, resilience and self -confidence required to achieve their full potential through engaging, suitably challenging and progressive learning within a safe and happy learning environment. I help children to develop a positive 'can-do' mind set and attitude towards their learning journey and support them to understand and develop the skills required to be curious, exceptional and successful learners. I have always had good, positive relationships with the children I teach and I believe good communication with parents regarding the progress and needs of their child is an important part of the home - tutor partnership. As a parent myself I understand the value of good quality education and well being for our children and how we wish the best for our children to help them happily fulfil their potential as life long learners and enjoy success as they journey through their school years.
I provide an initial assessment class and thereafter sessions are carefully planned and structured to provide personalised learning targeted to meet the needs of the student to maximise learning and ensure they make good progress. All resources are of high quality and thoughtfully selected to optimise learning.
All my classes are held online. I can offer face to face sessions for students living in the Hastings area.

My Experience
I have worked hard in my role as educator to ensure all children thrive and make excellent progress with their learning. As a class teacher I have worked across the primary age range and have extensive and successful experience working with children of all abilities and EAL learners. I am able to successfully extend and move children on in their learning to achieve excellent results that reflect their true potential.
As a leader I have designed, led training on and implemented English, Maths and phonic curriculum programs within schools, therefore, I have a strong and thorough knowledge and understanding of the primary curriculum. I have also been part of borough training programs for trainee teacher and ECT teachers (newly qualified teachers) as a mentor and trainer for phonics and Literacy. I have consultancy experience supporting UK trained teachers working in British international schools abroad to implement the UK National Curriculum in their classes.
I am now working as a private tutor and developing my tuition business. I am also currently working as a tutor with schools through the National Tutor Program and am working on creating curriculum content for primary schools. In addition, As a private tutor I have worked successfully with students to develop and improve their Literacy (reading/writing/phonics) and Maths skills, supported EAL learners with English language acquisition and prepared children from Year 4 onwards for the 11+ exams.
