Hi, I’m Imaan. An 20-year-old, student with a multitude of interests including baking, crocheting, sewing, painting and reading. Having grown up in Sparkbrook taking care of my youngest sibling, nieces and nephews I have experience in cooking, cleaning, and running errands.
I've achieved all As and A*s in my GCSEs and recently moved house where I opened up my own tutoring business teaching kids from the ages of 5 all the way up until 16. I enjoyed working with kids of all ages, acknowledging how difficult it could be at times. This job often branched out to parents asking if I could nanny their children on odd weekends and I was happy to do so.
I’m currently awaiting exam results so I am free until I begin dental school in September. As a result, I’d really enjoy getting back into working with children again.
My Experience
I have over 4 years of informal experience with primary schoolers and teens. This includes babysitting for neighbours and work colleagues, volunteering with groups of children and participating in youth projects as well as being a private SATS, 11+ and GCSE tutor from 2021-2023. Food bank volunteer from 2018-2020 where we worked in supporting children and their families.
My Qualifications
GCSEs - 9 As & A*s
A levels - 3 Bs
Tutor - worked as a self-employed tutor where I interacted with children daily. Had over 4 classes with each class consisting of at least 3 children lasting for 2 hours at a time. I taught Maths, English and SPAG from the ages of 5 to 15. I offered affordable 11+ tuition, allowing children from disadvantaged backgrounds the opportunity to apply for grammar schools. Additionally, I tutored GCSE English and biology on the weekends.
Babysitter - Looked after 3 siblings last summer who lived near me from 9 am-5 pm when their mom was on placement during the holidays. The children's ages were 6,9 and 10. She’d leave for me a list of activities the children wanted to partake in for that day. We’d visit the library and the park frequently. I also tutored these kids for a couple of hours each day and we had lots of fun. Generally worked with them from Tuesdays-Fridays with Fridays ending earlier at 4pm. I would cook lunch and tea for these kids taking into account allergies and preferences with the help of their mom and her preparation in advance ensuring that I did not struggle to find anything around their house.
My Availability
I’m available from 4pm-8pm on weekdays and from 9am-8pm on weekends.
