About Me
Hello! My name is Karley and I am a mother of two young daughters. I have lived in Shrewsbury for the last 12 years. I have recently changed careers, and I am finally pursing my dream of becoming a primary school teacher! Currently undertaking a PGCE at Chester University. I am enhanced DBS checked, CPR trained, Safeguarding training up to date, and I have a full drivers license.
My Experience
My background is in Nursing, I was previously a registered Nursing Associate, having worked in the NHS for the last 16 years. I have worked on adults wards as a hca, and I also have experience working at PRH neonatal unit, helping to care for premature babies within the nursery. In 2021 I took the plunge and finally had the confidence to pursue my dream of becoming a primary school teacher! I was employed as Teaching Assistant at a local primary school, working 1:1 with a SEN pupil. Whilst working as a TA I also completed a BA Hons in Education degree. I am now a few months into my PGCE course, I am due to qualify as a primary school teacher in July 2023. As part of the course I have lots more experience of working/supporting primary aged children, with my current placement working in a year 3, 4 and 5 class. I am so glad I finally took the plunge working alongside children is hugely rewarding, and I love my new role so much.
