About Me
I'm training to become a child speech and language therapist, and live in Canterbury with my husband and cat (Geoffrey). I have several years experience working with children of all ages and abilities - as a nanny, class assistant, 1:1 tutor and Brownie leader. I am highly organised and am able to provide excellent, flexible care that is tailored to work for your family, and meet your child/children's needs. I speak French and especially love nature, arts and crafts and reading and build these into my care if they are things the children also enjoy.
My Experience
I have completed short and long-term placements at day nurseries and as a classroom assistant in Key Stage 1, where I also worked with children individually to develop reading skills. I worked for a year in a France as a full-time nanny and English tutor to a 3 year-old, and for four years as a freelance English tutor and homework helper for children aged 2-15, including neurodivergent children. For the past year I have volunteered as a Brownie leader, and as part of this have completed safeguarding training. I have DBS checks through my role in Brownies and through my university, and am in the process of renewing my first aid certification. I'm more than happy to provide references if required.
My Qualifications
DBS clearance through Girlguiding UK and my University, and safeguarding training through Girlguiding UK. I completed a First Aid Course with Siren Training, and am in the process of renewing this. I'm currently working towards an MSc in Child Speech and Language Therapy, and as part of this have completed NHS Health and Safety and Child Safeguarding training.
My Availability
I am available on Tuesdays, Fridays and weekends until 18th July, and from then have flexible availability.
