My Summary
About Me
hi!
I consider myself to be naturally caring and nurturing and i find most children warm to me.
i share my home with my 2 children who are 15 and 25 and we also have 3 cats.
i have previously worked as an childminders assistant in quite a large setting i have helped lots of children from the age of 9 months upwards to settle into the setting.
There is nothing more rewarding to me than knowing that i have helped a family, and for both child and parents to be happy with the care, love and support i give.
it can be an emotional time when a child starts childcare but rest assured i will treat your little one with the same love and care i would do my own children.
it is amazing to see a child grow, learn and blossom and become confident happy little people with their own unique personality.
i think that a fun and fair approach to play and learning is key, lots of messy fun, songs and rhyme time, with a good mixture of child led free play and planned actives.
i have lots of toys aimed at 0-5yrs as i do not offer school pick-ups meaning babies and toddlers in my care will not have to be taken on school runs.
i have a large garden with age suitable toys and equipment.
my playroom is separate to my house it offers a large clean bright play area with kitchen facilities and has separate entrance.
My Experience
i have been working as a childminder for a year now and previously worked as an assistant to a childminder for the past 4yrs. Some of the children I have cared for have extreme allergies so I am well practiced in how to care for them, diet requirements, the use of antihistamines and epi pens (not had to use one yet!) I have also been a parent for the past 25yrs to a son and daughter, in their younger years i helped out at their schools with school trips and swimming.
i have a large extended family so have done lots of babysitting over the years from nieces and nephews to cousins and friend's children.
My Qualifications
i have completed full EYFS training, i have an extended DBS, paediatric first aid training and im upto date on safeguarding issues, and im ofsted registered.

I’ve known Emma for nearly six years now, and she’s looked after both my boys (now 6 and 3). She’s such a warm and loving person, and both boys felt comfortable with her very quickly. Emma is a wonderful communicator, and established an open and honest relationship with us as parents from the start. She always feels approachable, and it’s easy to see how much she cares for the families she works with. My younger son who is in her setting now has multiple severe food allergies, which can be quite complex to deal with, but Emma has taken every care to balance his needs with making sure he feels included. He loves to go round her house to play, and has established such lovely friendships with both her and the other children in her care. Her setting is thoughtfully set up to focus on younger children with lots to keep them busy at their home away from home, and he always comes home proud to show off his latest artwork or tell us about their trip to the park. Emma often sends photos of what they got up to during the day, which helps us feel connected, and he loves to look back at the photos in the evening to tell us all about his adventures. Our oldest is in school now, but begged to get to go back to Emma’s one afternoon over half term so he could play too. We feel so lucky to have found Emma - she’s really more like part of our family now. I cannot recommend her enough.
