About Me
I have been working in education for 17 years. I’m qualified as a mainstream teacher but I am retraining in a more holistic approach. I’m the mother of two compassionate, secure children. My son is four and my daughter is 7 months. I am a warm, caring and understanding individual. I love to travel between Japan, Portugal and Ireland.I swim regularly in London Fields Lido, attend yoga classes and meditate. I play the Irish fiddle and tin whistle.
My Experience
I have ample experience of looking after children starting as a nanny when I was 18 years old. I then qualified as a primary school teacher with a specialism in art. I have worked since qualifying 17 years ago in mainstream schools in both Ireland and London.I have had leadership roles leading in a large early years setting in a fantastic London school. I worked as an assistant head supporting a failing school. I am doing childcare as I would like to stay with my daughter for another year.I have regularly babysat for families. I also have two wonderful children which has given me such an in depth knowledge of a young babies needs. I practice responsive parenting and am very conscious about using positive interactions and supporting a child through tantrums. I have training and led a project around early language and emotional regulation in a school in Islington.
My Qualifications
I have a Bachelor of Education from Mary I college in Ireland, the most prestigious teacher training college. I have a specialism in art and have a degree in Gaelic. Over the years I have attended numerous trainings as well as facilitating and leading trainings for teachers. This includes, phonics training, early language, numeracy and emotional regulation, first aid and safeguarding etc
My Availability
I am available every day 8.30-4.30 during term time.I will be attending local playgroups and activities. My daughter will be also in my care.
