My Experience
I worked in three different nurseries, these were all private nurseries and started at 7:30 and ended at 18:30. I’ve always fulfilled 40 hours a week. I looked after babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers in one of the two nurseries I attended( forest hill nursery and chair bears day nursery). My main responsibilities consisted of; Taking children to the park two days a week, Preparing beds, snacks and dishing out lunch, Following home routines instructed by parents at nursery, Did weekly observations about allocated key children, After 6 weeks of settling in, contacting parents for them to see, ask and read about their child’s progress, Changed nappies and clothes when required, Supported children with sleeping during nap time, Supported some children with feeding, Wash dishes, clean tables, and sterilised toys.
