About Me

I am currently taking a doctorate in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy at the Tavistock Centre. In 2014 I have completed a MA in Psychoanalytic Observational Studies also at the Tavistock, where I learned a great deal about Child Development. I have a first class Psychology degree from Pontificia Universidade Catolica de Sao Paulo, in Brazil.
I have been working with children from the very beginning of my professional life. From February 2012 I worked as a sole-charge nanny with children aged from 7 months old to 10 years old. It was part of my role to organise play-dates, bath, feed, play and assist the children with homework. I look after the children at home as well as organise trips to parks and museums, always considering their practical and emotional needs. I am also working for different families on ad hoc basis.
I work as a support worker in supported accommodation hostels where I offer support to people coming from homelessness, helping clients to address substance use, physical and mental health, as well as practical aspects of everyday life. I am also working as a psychotherapist for an NHS Foundation Trust.
For 2 years I have worked as an Assistant Child Psychotherapist as part of a Tavistock Outreach program in Primary Schools. There I saw children individually on a weekly basis and my work was discussed and reflected upon in different settings. In Brazil, I worked as a psychotherapist in a Foundation that offers educational and health support to children and adolescents who lived in a favela in a very disadvantaged area in Sao Paulo. I was a volunteer in a project that was designed to provide psychotherapy for people who were dealing Mental Health issues.
