My name is Emma and I’m 32years old. I’ve been living in the UK for the past 9months. I’m a University student studying for my M.Sc degree in International Business.
These are some details that you may find useful. I have got quite a wide experience in childcare. When my twin cousins were born, I started babysitting kids at the age of 16. Since then, I have taken care of a large number of children in my home country, including infants through teenagers who belonged to my family or my neighbours. Being a parent is not difficult for me because I have loved kids since I was 16 years old. I've performed caregiving duties at nursing homes and care homes here in the UK.
My Experience
I was able to enhance my approach and overall understanding of how to handle and interact with children while gaining that experience. I learnt how to entertain them, engage them in activities that will aid in their physical and mental growth, have the patience to teach them new things, assist with their homework, and/or take care of their basic necessities like feeding, washing, and putting them to bed. I used to enjoy reading books about children, but I soon realised that the best way to understand their needs is to actually interact with them.
I like doing crafts, puzzles, taking long walks with them, and playing board games with them, but in general, everyone, including me, wanted to try to do as many outdoor activities and sports as we could.
My Qualifications
Although my studies had nothing to do with kids, I did go to two church-sponsored seminars where we learned about how kids' psychology can be impacted and fixed if there has been any harm. The other one dealt with bullying and what to do if we notice it among young children.
