About Me

Kind, caring, calm and friendly by nature, childcare is all iv ever known and I am now looking to branch away from a nursery setting and take on a new challenge. I particularly enjoy taking care of babies I find being part of their learning journey and watching them grow so rewarding and have the knowledge and skills to help support them in their development. Singing/dancing, musical activities and anything craft based I enjoy doing, so would be happy to attend local baby/toddler groups etc. Having the freedom to go and explore different environments and experience new things is an aspect of nannying I find appealing. I look forward to being able to build a bond with a family on a more focused level and make a difference in helping with their day to day life (willing to help with light chores if needed). I’m a mother myself to my 6 year old daughter, she is my world so I understand the importance of getting childcare right and feeling comfortable and secure that you’re child/children are in reliable safe hands.

My Experience

I have close to 14 years of experience working in early years. For majority of this time I have worked with children under 2 as a Baby Room Leader and Supervisor in a nursery setting but have lots of experience taking care of children up to 5 years of age also. I’m used to working alongside parents, supporting and advising them on routines, weaning and behaviour. Birth to 5 developmental milestones is something I have lots of knowledge in and activities that help to promote and progress these. I have worked with children with a range of different needs such as allergies, skin conditions and medical conditions that include administering medication and specialised feeding. Being a mum, I have confidence and experience handling newborn and young babies.

My Qualifications

I hold a level 3 in childcare qualification, BTEC in health and social care, trained in Paediatric first aid and also have experience and training in NG tube and PEG feeding. Not to mention I have completed numerous online courses relevant to childcare such as understanding babies, promoting positive behaviour and child protection. DBS checked (I have the older style CRB check document as I started my childcare job many years ago but I will obtain a new style one when needed) Trained and experienced in baby wearing (using slings).

My Availability

Ideally I’m looking for a Nanny position of around 25-30 hours a week over 4 days. I can be flexible on which days and open to do extra hours at times with plenty of notice. I have a daughter of school age so hours to suit this is mainly what I’m looking for but I can work outside of these also.
