My Summary
About Me
From a young age I have always worked with children and spend a lot of my time around them. Having work experience alongside a childminder allowed me to get a great understanding at how children of all ages learn. Being in a childcare setting doesn’t always mean working with the children all the time, it also means working alongside the children's parents and giving them updates about their children. I feel it is as important to have a good relationship with the parent as it is with the child. This allows me to feel comfortable but also confident around others.
I am currently in the process of learning to drive and own a car.
I don’t have a gold membership so I will like your post if interested! Feel free to message me
My Experience
My mum is a childminder so I am very used to working with children aged 7 months- 14 years old. I saw an interest in working with children from a young age. Skills from being a childminder assistant include many different skills such as helping the children, communication skills, good listening skills and patience.
I also worked in a soft play area for 7 months. I really enjoyed my job as a floor assistant as I was able to talk and help new customers everyday. I was very fortunate to learn so many different skills from this job such as furthering my communication skills, learning teamwork, working under pressure, time management and good listening skills. I also had to work alongside children by making sure they were safe in the environment but also making them feel comfortable by talking to them
My Qualifications
When I was in secondary school I studied health and social care and as part of that curriculum I had to spend an afternoon at Healing Primary School. Spending the afternoon there gave me the chance to experience what a teaching assistant would be like as we were all designated classes and had to help the teachers. I really enjoyed my time at Healing Primary School and it gave me an eye opening to what a career in a school would be like. Shortly after I had to organise work experience for a week and I chose to have work experience in a primary school, Keelby Primary School but unfortunately that was cancelled due to Covid-19.
