About Me
We are a Montessori bilingual household with two daughters aged 3.2yo and 21mo. We live in the countryside where we keep some chickens and have a large garden. Our kids rarely watch TV and if they do its usually National Geographic or real-life gentle shows eg cooking, gardening, and animals. As with Montessori philosophy we do not expose our kids to fantasy (eg talking animals, fairies, dragons, unicorns etc), we love books and reading and being outside. Our girls are encouraged and helped to be as independent as possible.
We use positive discipline, respectful parenting and natural parenting. We also do not use praise as it is counterproductive for kids' development, and we focus on descriptive feedback, pointing out results, and observing and commenting eg. 'You did it! You worked really hard at this, you kept practising even when it didn't work and you managed to build/close/open/paint it. You painted blea circles and red lines. What did you like the most in the process?'
My Requirements
Ability to work with toddlers.
Nappy changing might be needed and help with using potty/toilet and wiping.
Getting girls to sleep, serving a snack.
Reference from other parents/employers.
DBS check a plus.
Help around the home/cleaning/craft etc material prepint when kids sleep would be a plus.
