My Summary
Primary Teacher With 11 Years Experience
About Me
Hello parents,
My name is Amelia and I have just left a large SEN school where I was a Teacher and Head of Nurture. The school tailored for children the ages of 2-19 so I have experience with all ages, however Early Years are my favourite.
With just shy of 11 years experience I want to make a difference at the very start of a child's life before children reach school. I love to help children develop their independent skills and have fun whilst also getting them ready for school by providing a safe, creative, inviting and nurturing environment for them to thrive in.
I am Nurture and Attachment Theory trained which means I focus on the wellbeing of the children in my care first and foremost. I know relationships are the most important factor in a child feeling safe and that's something that is threaded throughout my day and interactions with all the children in my care.
I live in Tadley with my husband and two young children. We are both non smokers and have two cats. We have a lovely house, which is safe and secure. We have a dedicated playroom which leads to a large garden so your child can burn off all that energy.
The playroom consists of educational toys which are also fun and exciting for all Early Year ages. Child development & Early Education is my passion and what I have trained in and have taught for the last 11 years. I plan and differentiate for the individual needs, strengths and interests of the child.
I love to be creative and use my imagination to engage every child in fun activities. Activities include: messy play, painting, play dough, music and dancing, sports, reading, crafts and lots of others. We focus on structured and unstructured play so I can make sure all children get some pre school skills and start to become independent.
I have my own children, a boy aged 3 years and a girl aged 7 months. This has given me a real understanding of what a parent wants for their child.
If you have any questions please feel free to message me. In the meantime good luck in your search, I know leaving your child with someone is an incredibly personal choice and I'm here to make it easy.
My Experience
I have 11 years experience as a Teacher of ages 2-19, specifically behaviour, mental health and wellbeing. I also conducted Outreach to other schools in the Local Authority to improve their provision and keep their students in the school.
I am First Aid trained in both Pediatric and Mental Health.
I am Nurture trained which included Attachment training. This means I am qualified to ensure all children have access to learning opportunities within a safe environment however they learn best. I want to ensure they have all the building blocks to get school ready within a home like environment.
I lead my school to achieve the Nurturing Schools Accreditation twice. This includes having extensive involvement with parents on how to improve the school to ensure the best for their child.
Most importantly, I am a mum of two incredible children and the proud auntie to my two niece's. What can give you more experience to what a parent is going through and how best to look after children than when you are a parent yourself!
