About Me
My Name is Thevuni and I'm a Children's Nursing Student. When I'm not at uni or placement I love reading, cafés and people watching. I recently started crocheting and am finding it very therapeutic! I'm really enjoying the course I'm studying and feel it's the right end goal for me. I love working with children and find the development of little minds very fascinating. I find doing activities with children like, imaginative games and colouring and messy play a lot of fun.
My Experience
While on my Children's Nursing Placement, I was placed on a Health Visiting team. The experience allowed me to learn about child brain development, sleeping, weaning and feeding. I've interacted with many parents and babies and toddlers.
Modules at Uni have taught me about holistic and family centred care, both of which are important when working with children and families.
Before Uni I also volunteered at a centre for children with learning needs. We did weekly activity sessions which focused on life skills. Working with these children gave me insight into different methods of communication and also developed my patience and play skills.
My Qualifications
BSc (Hons) Children's Nursing - Currently studying
A Levels (Biology - A*, Maths - A*, Chemistry - A)
GCSEs ( 7A*s, 1 A)
The Children's nursing course has also given me simulation based training around basic life skills, nutrition, etc.
