Hi, my name is Sophia and I am 23 years old.
I am Greek but have been raised in London. Currently I am studying with the Open University doing BA (Hons) education studies (Primary) as a 3rd year student. In my spare time, I enjoy being in nature - as this is where I feel at peace, so I take regular walks. I also love painting/drawing and have recently got back into reading every day. I am a very fun, engaging person and extremely passionate in helping others which reflects in my previous job experience. I love being around children and understanding the world from their perspective. I like to help children learn/understand their emotions and how to deal with them, I also have knowledge on attachments and understand how important this is for children which is shown in my practice. I am very motivated to help children in the best way possible to further support their development. I have experience in nurseries, babysitting, and an autistic school - now currently working part-time with an autistic pupil in reception. I would love to have the chance to show you my skills, who I am and my love for children if you let me.
My Experience
I have past experience caring for elderly, but this highlighted to me how much I want to help children and the future. Hence why I am now also in my second year at university studying primary education. I gained experience working in nurseries, for a year with the ages of 10 months to 4 years old. I also volunteered in a primary school with reception class. Along with this, I have spent just under two years working in an autistic school on a 1:1 basis ranging from 4-19 year olds. I also used to babysit a 1 and 4 year old, and currently work in a private school 1:1 with an autistic child in reception, where I support him with his learning, social, emotional and physical development.
My Qualifications
10 GCSE's A*-C including English, Maths and Science.
Level 3 Teaching Assistant
Paediatric First Aid certifies (Tigerlily)
AS Level in Media and Photography
Level 3 Business Studies
Level 3 Hospitality
Safeguarding certificate
Diploma of Higher Education in Primary Education Studies - working towards BA (hons)

My Availability
I am not looking for full-time hours as I am also studying a degree via distant learning and work Monday-Thursdays until 1pm. Wed&Thurs I currently finish at 3pm.
