About Me
Hi, my name is Lucy and we at Ivy Meadow Childcare are looking forward to welcoming families into our setting from the 2nd January 2024.
We are based in Horsley Woodhouse where I live with my husband, 3 children aged 15, 10 and 8 and our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Tommy.
We offer a warm, safe environment where children can learn through play, have fun and develop relationships.
Our setting includes 2 dedicated childminding rooms and a secure outdoor space with play equipment.
We provide age appropriate activities to encourage children to achieve their developmental milestones.
We will regularly attend recreational activities including local playgroups and trips to the park. We aim to explore the local area to enable children to explore, discover and appreciate the natural world.
We are also offering a before and after school club for children attending Horsley C of E Primary School and Horsley Woodhouse Primary School.
My Experience
I have 14 years experience of practising as a Paediatric Nurse and Health Visitor. I have a wide range of knowledge and skills to utilise within my setting.

We moved my son to Ivy meadow after months of trying to get him to settle at a nursery which was very upsetting and stressful for both me and my little boy. From day one of dropping him with Lucy there were no tears upon leaving him, he just fit straight in. It really is like a home from home, the children are so well cared for and the setting is lovely. Lucy makes a really effort to learn the children’s likes and interests. All of the children and staff have such lovely bonds, it’s like leaving your child with family members. My little boy was just as excited to be dropped off as he was to be picked up, you are always greeted with a lovely welcome in the morning. We also used Ivy Meadow over the summer for my elder daughter who was usually attends a schools out setting. Once she’d been she kept asking if she could go back. I highly recommend Lucy and Ivy meadow, It’s a lovely childcare setting.

My daughter goes to Lucy and Louise and I can not praise them enough, both very friendly and professional. I know my daughter is in safe hands.
