About Me
We are a friendly and active family with two young boys (5 year old in reception and 1 year old). We are looking for a kind and fun nanny who will fit in with us and be part of the family for the next few years.
We live in a beautiful part of the North Hertfordshire countryside on the edge of a village but within easy reach of Hitchin, Letchworth, Baldock and Stevenage, the latter which offers quick trains into Kings Cross (c25 mins). We have a self contained 2-bed annex which is has been newly refurbished and is available for the nanny to live in if desired.
My Requirements
The primary role would be caring for the baby who has recently turned 1. This will be a sole charge role albeit both of us parents work from home some of the week (with our own study spaces). Our older son is in school full time but there would be responsibilities which may include pick ups/ drops offs some days, after school play time and dinner preparation. In the school holidays he is enrolled in some camps, but you would also be looking after him for some of it.
The hours will be Monday-Friday, 07.45-18.45 (55 hours), perhaps finishing up earlier on Fridays in exchange for one night babysitting in the week, with the day agreed in advance.
We are keen to keep the children learning and developing with stimulating and educational indoor fun (games, reading, singing songs, crafts, imaginary play, etc) mixed with plenty of outside play and walks. We are happy for you to take the baby to groups, play dates and classes, allowing them to interact with other children.
We are also keen for the children to eat healthy meals (which can be a challenge with the older one!) so you will need to prepare nutritious meals for the children, batch cooking when possible.
We employ a weekly cleaner but this role is to include all nursery duties – general care of the children, children’s laundry, keeping all areas the children use clean and tidy between weekly cleans (kitchen, children’s bedrooms and playroom). We appreciate a “muck in” approach to keep our home running smoothly, so someone who is happy to load/unload the dishwasher when needed or pick up groceries etc would be helpful.
Given the village location, you must be a driver with a clean licence and your own fully insured car.
