About Me
We provide a warm and welcoming environment where children can have fun, feel safe and secure while striving to push themselves to succeed and achieve. We provide healthy meals and comfortable sleeping facilities are available for children who wish to have a nap or sleep. We cater for children from all backgrounds and support this within the setting by the provision we set out and the celebration of cultures etc. There is opportunity for outdoor and indoor play on a daily basis providing the weather permits us to do so. ( Mud kitchen, sand pit, water play, see saw, climbing frame with slide). we also provide a wide range of fun indoor activities, such as, (musical instruments, reading area , dolls house, small world toys, dressing up, construction ,sensory toys. games, writing and creative equipment etc). Another important area we will be exploring is the allotment, where we will be planting seeds and growing our own vegetables and fruits. Growing what we eat and eating what we grow.
My Experience
I am a fully qualified childcare practitioner and have over 20 years experience of working with children. My passion is working with children and supporting them achieve to reach their full potential. I have worked in a variety of settings in a variety of roles ( state schools, private schools, private day nurseries and church children department). I started as an assistant, then became a room leader, supervisor, department leader, and most recently manager/teacher within the early years. I also got to work with the older children up to key stage 2 within a school setting and up to 16 years old within a church setting.

My child has been attending for a while now and is thriving. Nichell provides a warm and friendly home from home. There are also lots of educational opportunities provided by Nichell, which our child has really benefited from. Her home has plenty of space for children to explore and learn in a way that works for them. Nichell also provides healthy and home cooked meals, with produce from her allotment. Would absolutely recommend Nichell’s childcare.

Nichell has been childminding my daughter for a number of months now and I am absolutely delighted with my little girl's progress. I'm extremely happy with the care that my daughter has received whilst in Nichell's care. Nichell's home is always welcoming, clean and well organised and my daughter has great fun playing with all the toys available and with the other children in her care. Beyond all this though, it is Nichell’s warm and friendly yet professional approach that we really like.
She provides a wide, fun range of activities including plenty of outdoor exercise. I know my girl has recently enjoyed sand and water play, drawing and sticking, reading and puzzles as well as outings to the park, trips to feed the ducks and walks in the woods nearby. She even made a crown for Coronation day and also brings home beautiful artwork.
Nichell is a great communicator and has no trouble in gaining my daughter's confidence and therefore encouraging good behaviour and kindness and compassion to others, both skills which are important to us at home.
Nichell also completes a diary detailing what my daughter has done each day. From this I have a complete picture of her whole day including what she has eaten, and all her activities. This helps me to feel involved with her care and that I can talk to her about her day.
All in all I am thoroughly happy with the level of care my daughter receives and I’m certain that being in such a positive and happy environment is helping her develop into a confident and self assured little girl.
I would absolutely recommend Nichell as a great and reliable childminder.
