My Experience

I have worked for over 25 years in the childcare sector in various settings. I feel I am a confident, sociable, professional practitioner who enjoys many challenges my post offers. I feel I am continously developing my skills and welcome new opportunities to train and update my knowledge.
Initially I started work in a day nursery as a nursery nurse. I have also worked in a crèche and nursery as part of the College of North East London. I was following policies and procedures of the setting. I supervised and worked as part of a team. My duties were planning for children’s developmental needs, using the Birth to Three Matters and Foundation Stage Framework keeping appropriate records, ensuring health and safety, working closely with families, working closely in a team. I communicated with parents/carers on a daily basis. I have supervisory experience with students where I liaise with the tutors and supported and encouraged the students throughout their placement. I enjoyed the daily contact of children, parents and working in this profession. I have worked in different schools as a Teaching Assistant.
My most recent post is as a nursery nurse. I work in a nursery in the primary school.
I have done various babysitting jobs over the years. I have taken part in after school jobs and in the evenings. I have done the bedtime routine, reading stories and settling them for bed time routines. I have done day to day activities, taking them to the park, library and soft play.
