About Me
About Me
I am an Ofsted Registered Childminder and run Marsh House Childcare in Pinner HA5, located at 5 minutes’ walk from Pinner station.
As a mother of 2 grown up children and a level 3 qualified Early Years Practitioner, I am experienced in Early Years education and dedicated to giving children the best start in life. I partially use Montessori methodology followed by EYFS.
I provide high quality childcare in a nurturing home to home setting, welcoming children under five years old. The most common age starting to join my setting is 6-12 months old. I understand how difficult it is for parents to leave the child while at work, that’s why I send pictures and regular updates throughout the day.
I describe our setting’s strengths as promoting independence, kindness, healthy eating habits, taking care of safeguarding, health and wellbeing of the children. Child will experience an emphasis on learning through play, by our wide range of carefully selected planned activities and outings. I strongly believe that a child’s environment and well-being between the ages of 0 to 3 years are crucial for their future development, and I take pride in playing a significant role during this formative stage.
There is dedicated playroom with child friendly furniture, chairs and tables. It has multiple activity areas that support the EYFS. There is a separate sleeping area, so children are able to follow their own sleeping patterns away from their play environment. We have a large outdoor play area and private secured garden & are surrounded by parks which are accessed within the daily routines as outdoor learning is essential to a child's development.
I am an active, considerate, cheerful and fully responsible and dedicated person who loves working with children. I take pride in providing a professional service with peace of mind complying with Early Years and Ofsted regulations.
As I am strongly passionate about my children’s progress, I tend to carry on reading and sharing experiences, which helps improving my strategies every day.
I work with kind and professional assistant(s), when needed. They are registered with Ofsted as my assistants. We mind for children in the adult: child ratios, as per Ofsted guidelines, usually age 0 to 3-4 years old.
Occasionally, I might have extra children over this age during half terms or holidays to help parents cope with work. These children are mostly the ones who have been in my care when they were little, and they only attend for one day or two as a backup plan. Unfortunately, we don’t have resources to entertain them enough at over 4 years old age, but they get best possible care, food and attention. For me it’s a great way to keep in touch and an opportunity to see them again.
My setting is a safe home from home where little ones are nurtured, cared for and become part of the family making sure children are always happy in a friendly atmosphere as well as learning something new every day. I provide plenty of toys and activities to promote development and independence on your own child's interests.
I work based on child-led learning & schemas. I enable children to explore, make new discoveries, learn from mistakes and stay focused and determined to try new things. Awe and Wonder, I believe is a priority as it motivates and creates learning experiences which stay with children throughout their lives. Each day involves both adult-led & child-led or free choice activities.
I am a member of Forest Childcare Association. I have a commitment to all year weekly outdoor adventures where children can explore nature.
I am very much into nature and conservation. We use a lot of recycle materials as art and craft or learning resources.

My Experience
I have knowledge and experience working with my own two children who are now happy and well-balanced adults and running a childcare setting with great feedback from the parents. I love working with children and I am always happy to give them my full attention. I know how important my role is for their entire life as children will develop 80% of their brain, personality and independence by the age of 2-3 years old.
I am confident that children who spend 2-3 years in my program will gain valuable skills that will greatly benefit their future lives.

My son has been attending Marsh House for nearly a year, when he was just about to turn 1. We are really pleased with the care he receives there and he is always happy when I pick him up. It looks like the kids have loads of fun with themed activities and we love getting all his artwork at the end of the month. The setting is lovely, and the kids have lots of time running about in the garden which was really important to us.
Akanksha was really great settling him in, and we get plenty of updates during the day about what he's been up to. She'll always reassure me he's ok if it's been a difficult drop off or he's not feeling 100%. She is really knowledgeable and experienced and we feel confident leaving our little one with her. We chose a childminder Vs a nursery as we liked the idea of a home setting and more personal care for our son, and we are really happy we found that with Marsh House.

We visited Marsh house for our son, first thing we noticed was the children’s room which was very well organised and clean.
Akanksha was very welcoming, she answered every questions that we had, she was also very prepared, and interacted with our son.
Our son immediately felt at home and welcomed, he even played with her husband and their lovely family dog :) it really felt homely!
I would definitely recommend Marsh home !!

We were looking for a childminder that could start quite quickly but was also important for us that our little one felt at home. After viewing a few places, it was a quite easy decision to pick Marsh House. Not only was the place that our little one felt most comfortable at but also the one that ticked most our requirements as parents. Although we haven’t been with them for a long time, we extremely happy with our decision.
Thank you 🤩

We visited Marsh House childcare and honestly our child chose it himself - from the very second we got there he was so happy and comfortable there. The cleanliness and hygiene is to the very highest standard and Akanksha really does look after my son as one of her own. He has learnt so much since starting his journey with Marsh House Childcare and it’s so nice as working parents to know he is in the best place possible for his learning and growth. Akanksha takes my son out everyday and does so many activities with him it’s nurturing his mind and skills in the most organic and natural way possible. The meals provided are healthy and nutritious and his dietary requirements have been understood from the very beginning. You can really see how much Akanksha cares for children and how much she loves her job. We always say we have been blessed to find Akanksha as she truly is a fantastic childminder and so caring and gentle with our boy. We get regular updates throughout the day and little take home bits from activities he has done throughout the day which is so nice to see - we love it!
