About Us
Located in the historic market town of Newton Abbot, hdc Nursery has a nurturing and stimulating environment that provides the perfect start for your child’s learning journey. Each room includes hygge-inspired decor, producing a cosy, home-from-home atmosphere that encourages togetherness within our setting. The nursery provides full time and part time care for children aged 0-5 years.
Our approach to teaching includes a focus on the children’s interests. with staff-led activities to encourage extended learning and support their development.
The nursery contains three key rooms: The Orchard for babies, The Meadow for toddlers, and The Forest for Pre-School children. Each room caters to children at different stages of their development, as well as a garden to encourage outdoor play and an active lifestyle. Within the garden area there is a vegetable patch, providing the opportunity for little ones to learn more about food, sustainability, and the environment.
In the Toddlers and Pre-School rooms, there are a wide range of natural resources, as well as a role play area where they can make sense of their world, acting out experiences, and building strong relationships with their peers. The Forest room, designed with Pre-Schoolers in mind, has its own walled garden, giving children the choice to play outdoors when they wish.
We are open from 7:30am - 5pm Monday to Friday for 51 weeks of the year (we are closed at Christmas and on bank holidays).
