About Us

Located in the historic market town of Newton Abbot, hdc Nursery has a nurturing and stimulating environment that provides the perfect start for your child’s learning journey. Each room includes hygge-inspired decor, producing a cosy, home-from-home atmosphere that encourages togetherness within our setting.

Our approach to teaching includes a focus on the children’s interests. with staff-led activities to encourage extended learning and support their development.

The nursery contains three key rooms: The Orchard for babies, The Meadow for toddlers, and The Forest for Pre-School children. Each room caters to children at different stages of their development, as well as a garden to encourage outdoor play and an active lifestyle. Within the garden area there is a vegetable patch, providing the opportunity for little ones to learn more about food, sustainability, and the environment.

In the Toddlers and Pre-School rooms, there are a wide range of natural resources, as well as a role play area where they can make sense of their world, acting out experiences, and building strong relationships with their peers. The Forest room, designed with Pre-Schoolers in mind, has its own walled garden, giving children the choice to play outdoors when they wish.

The nursery offers exceptional care, enriched by unique learning opportunities for your child. One such experience is child-friendly cooking classes, helping to equip children with valuable skills and deeper knowledge of the cooking process.
