My Summary
About Me
Hi, my name is Samantha and I’m a qualified (QTS) Primary school tutor. Originally from Sydney, I graduated with a distinction in Bachelor of Primary Education.
Coronavirus has created havoc with the educational progression of children, which will have a long term impact, It is vital that children are put back in the position they would have been had their education not been disrupted by - not just one, but two - lockdowns.
My style of teaching will most importantly, help re-engage your child in effective learning, which in turn will allow for effective ‘catch up’ of lost learning. This will mean that your child will be more confident going forward and so push on in their learning, rather than counting the cost of lockdown.
I believe education should be about learning the most important question - WHY. Applying learning through the real world context will allow for children to develop reasoning and problem skills to develop.
My Experience
I have been working within various primary school settings across London for 10 years. These include primary and SEN schools working with a variety of students with all abilities. Specialist upper KS2 teacher and Year 6 lead, I have prepared children for their SATS and 11+ papers with considerable success for the past 8 years.. Many of my students have gone on to higher education with confidence in their knowledge and understanding, and most importantly confidence in themselves. It is my philosophy that knowledge is acquired through enjoyment and in turn fosters an enquiring mind.
I have led booster sessions for Year 6 children in Maths, reading and Spelling punctuation and grammar. I have also tutored children who have wanted to improve their English, maths, verbal and non-verbal reasoning skills for the 11+ exams.
I have also been SPAG (Spelling, punctuation and grammar) lead at my school, Art, Music and DT lead across different timeframes.
I am also a trained ballet, tap and jazz instructor so feel movement is key in helping children to develop health, confidence and focus.
My Qualifications
Bachelor of Education (Primary) 2008-2011. Graduated with Distinction
Child protection and Safeguarding certificate

My Fees
- Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
- Tutoring from £40.00 per hour
My tutoring rates depend on the age of the child and the rigour and depth of the subject being taught. I also consider the journey cost but often will provide discounts for those who have kept me on long term. Keep in mind that I am a qualified teacher - not a tutor or TA- who strongly believes that education is the best investment a parent can make for their child.
Does your child have a group of friends or peers they would like to learn with? I offer virtual zoom sessions at £15 per child.
