About Me

I am a 20 year old female living in Dalbeattie, Scotland.
I see myself as a very trustworthy, patient person which I feel is necessary for this type of job as it’s important to to be relied on to care and to provide learning for the children especially by parents.

My Experience

In 2022 I graduated studying my HNC in Childcare at Dumfries and Galloway College. I previously also did my NC in childcare. It's always been a great passion of mine to pursue a career in Childcare. I feel I've had a great insight into what it takes to work in the early years as well as have that practical experience through placement. I've had experience working in a Primary school as part of my work experience in my last year of school. In addition, I have also had two years of experience in nursery environments as part of my college courses. This has helped me to experience the more practical aspects of this work as well as gain the knowledge and skills needed for early years' work.

I have also had experience working cleaning holiday homes as a Saturday job whilst at school. This helped me to gain organizational skills, and communication skills as well as helped me to work in a team. These skills I’ve developed during this job are transferable to use in a childcare setting and these skills I do have will help me in my career.

I see myself as a very trustworthy, patient person which I feel is necessary for this type of job as it’s important to to be relied on to care and to provide learning for the children especially by parents but also by fellow workers.

I feel I have a genuine interest in caring for children and helping them learn and be happy and creating a caring and stimulating environment around them. One of the main reasons why I want to work in Childcare is because I want to help children to get the most out of their learning and feel happy and content in their play and learning. I just love the feeling you get from being with and working with children as well as being that key person to provide them with many opportunities to really explore and thrive from their learning. Aspects of this employment I enjoy most are being able to help children learn, help them build on new skills with others, and just being able to create a happy environment for them to be in.

I've previously worked part-time in a local cafe for two years fitting in with college. This aided me in getting more confidence and helped me to work as a team with others as well as gaining practical skills that have aided me whilst on placement.

I have undergone Planning in the moment Training based on Anna Ephgrave with Nikki Smith as well as also went through Gastrostomy Button Training.

I am currently working as a learning assistant in a local nursery school where I'm a one to one. I love this job and is something that has taught me many skills that I will take with me.
