My Experience

Special Needs Education setting:
I worked as a 1:1 assistant for SEN students in primary school. Here I learnt a diverse range of needs and established a caring and nourishing relation with each student: Including students with ASD, ADHD, PDA, DCD, partial sight.

Teaching- Year 4 students:
I planned and delivered activities and classes to year 4 students once a fortnight in D&T and Art. Here I arranged activities that were exciting as well as inclusive and educational. The classes were a great success, and I had lots of fun learning from the students too.

Personal Carer for Non verbal (single child household. Age 10) ASD, PDA:
At home personal care:
Emotional regulation
Behavioural support

Creating a calming environment
Maintaining contact with child’s school
Helping develop EHCP and other external care arrangements

Full time Nanny for Non verbal 5 year old, verbal 3 year old (2 child household)
Daily tasks include:
School preparation- lunchboxes, waking children up, dressing, school run.
School pick up
Arranging OT appointments,
Finding and attending local SEN activities
Taking the children to the park, going swimming together, occasionally days out to small local galleries/ museum when suitable.
Keep updated with OT on behavioural and communication developments- and constantly learning how to best push in these areas
Creating a calming environment- both emotionally and physically.
As well as basic tasks- potty training, food preparation etc.

Part time Nanny (single child household age 3 months)
Worked with family from 3 to 18 months
Trips to libraries, baby play groups, parks, paddling pools.

It is essential in a role such as this, to have love, care and excitement for the generation to come. I take everyday as an opportunity to learn something new and my time working with children has consistently fulfilled this desire. Always met with new knowledge, new challenges and new connections. I’d best describe myself as proactive, hands-on and creative. I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty, and I’m not afraid of being told new ways to approach things.

A bit about me: I come from a family of Behavioural specialists and Educational psychologists and SENCOs- this has given me an excellent advantage to have insight into the ‘higher up’ systems in education, and social care which has proven greatly beneficial while supporting families to find the right therapies, schools and care plans for those with disabilities. It has also given me the opportunity to learn communication methods used by schools, allowing a seamless transition between home and school life. (PECS, beginner makaton)

I’m a creative, having studied in fine art and continuing as a mature student in engineering part time (remotely) I have a mind that likes to make patterns, create answers and find solutions. I am hands on around the house with great DIY skills- fixing a lot of things that get broken by children (and adults!)
I am also a great cook- while I am mostly leading a vegetarian diet myself, I’m content with cooking all and any types of food. Creating nourishing healthy food that most important tastes great!

My Fees

• Babysitting from £19.00 per hour
• Nannying from £22.00 per hour (net)
