About Me
Hello! I’ve just moved to Jesmond, Newcastle with my 2 year old daughter Lyra and I’m looking for some childcare and household help. I am disabled and finding solo parenting is burning me out too much to keep on top of housework or take Lyra out as much as I’d like to.
I’ve been trying to get Lyra comfortable in a local montessori nursery to give me a break to recoup some energy, but she hasn’t felt comfortable enough for me to leave her. So I feel she needs more of a 1-1 approach with someone she can build a relationship with over time.
Our household setup is a house share with my best friend. We have the top floor and are lucky to have a dedicated montessori playroom which we enjoy spending time in, a garden space, and a separate bedroom each. We also have our own little kitchenette upstairs.
We’re still cosleeping and breastfeeding, and follow montessori and gentle parenting as best we can.
Because of our unique situation, we can be flexible with the hours you’re free to help us. I’d really love someone to help Lyra trust the world a bit more and think my health will benefit from an extra pair of hands.

My Requirements
Gentle parenting/montessori child-led based childcare, building up trust with Lyra over time, taking her to the park, maybe a toddler group, making mud potions in the garden, following her lead where possible. Helping her trust the world a bit more and building up her confidence. She loves practical life and helping with cooking, washing etc.
Potentially also assisting with potty training as we haven’t got there yet! ?
Housework wouldn’t be too heavy but I’d really appreciate some help with basic things like carrying my laundry basket up and down the stairs, some light cleaning, tidying when needed, and preparing simple meals. Hoovering would be appreciated too!
Also just encouraging Lyra to tidy up too. She’s generally happy to tidy but still needs encouragement and guidance.
