About Me

Hi! I'm Naomi, a kind, calm and enthusiastic babysitter with extensive experience and tons of energy, positivity, patience and creativity. I'm always up for running around, dancing, reading books and telling stories.

I love babysitting - seeing children engaged in play and developing in a safe, fun, and enriching environment. I base my care around your child and their individuality and interests - as well as you, your family, and all of your needs and preferences - it's your choice. I will listen and respect you, your child, your family and your direction and preferences.

I used to work as a healthcare assistant; my babysitting experience was great preparation - moving like a whirlwind, doing lots of things at once while ensuring everyone is safe. As a carer, compassion, dependability and flexibility are essential so I really used and developed these skills. Also important was having a good sense of humour and being able to listen.

In previous roles, I proactively made myself useful when and where needed, according to parents and guardians' wishes - tiding after children, washing up and doing laundry. I love being an extra pair of hands and making parents and guardians lives easier - even just being there to make you a cup of tea or coffee and have a good chat (or a good rant when needed!).

In addition to babysitting, I gained experience working with children in a primary school work experience placement (children aged 4-5). In a testimonial, the teacher of the class I worked with describes me as "polite, kind and joyful", having a "caring nature that children immediately warm to" and writes that I "listen to what they have to say and respond appropriately", use "children's interests as a basis for developing their learning", "can work without support", and am "punctual... often arrives early... to provide a stimulating and challenging environment for the children".

I'm an English teacher with experience teaching children. I have a Teaching Young Learners Workshop certificate which left me bubbling with ideas for teaching English, so if that's a way I could help you, then that's wonderful! I'm CELTA-qualified and love teaching!

I love rain, travel, swimming in the sea, kayaking, canoeing, camping and running through woods and beaches. I moved to Manchester last September and have fallen in love with the city - I love heading to a park to wander and read (novels, nonfiction, newspapers... anything I can get my hands on!) and taking classes to meet new people, learn new skills and have fun! I've just started learning to dance salsa and bachata and am in love!
