About Me
I’m a mature lady (54 years old) with a lot of life experience but I am also young at heart. I love children. I am currently working for two Agencies as a Special Needs Supply Teaching Assistant (when required).
My Experience
I have undergone counselling training with Secondary School children, but more recently I have been working in schools with mostly primary and junior aged, special needs children. I very much enjoy working with children and teens. I consider myself to have a youthful mindset, which helps me to understand the children I work with. I am currently doing a course in understanding young people and children’s mental health. I have a particular interest in this area. I run an online Autism Group called GAIN, which was previously face to face, before the Pandemic.
My Qualifications
I have three GCSE’s and 1 O level, and Level 2 Counselling, I have done a Counselling Diploma but I was unable to finish this due to personal circumstances and the Pandemic. However, I did pass all the modules apart from the last one. I also obtained a Typing Distinction a number of years ago.
My Availability
My availability ideally is to work around my supply work in schools. However when I’m not working, I may well be able to help at other times
