About Me
Hi I am Gemma, 28 years old and live in Leeds LS16 area. I have a recent DBS, I do not smoke and I am Covid-19 vaccinated. I am comfortable around pets. I am looking to be a babysitter to help a family with childcare. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in 'Working with Children, Young People and Families' and I have gained Childcare Level 2 & 3 qualifications. I have a substantial amount of childcare experience as I have previously worked in nurseries working with children aged 6 months to 5 years old. In addition, I was a Nanny abroad in Mallorca looking after a 6 month old child in 2017. I am a kind, patient and a caring person who enjoys interacting with children. I like being creative and using my initiative to create fun and age-appropriate games and activities for children. I recently returned from working in Australia as an Inclusion Support Worker for a 2 year old child. I am now looking to be an occasional babysitter.
My Experience
I have previously worked in nurseries working with children aged 6 months to 5 years old. My duties involved safeguarding children at all times whilst inside and outside the premises, assisting with nappy changing and feeding, engaging with children during play and maintaining a daily diary of the child's day. In addition, reporting any concerns or issues regarding the child's welfare, providing first aid and observing my key children's development such as physical, emotional, intellectual and following the EYFS system.
During my time at University, I completed placements working with children and adolescents, for example, I assisted a Social Worker providing pastoral care to year 7 students. I also supported a Children's Centre with running after school clubs and events for children and young people.
I was a Nanny for a 6 month old child during a summer season abroad in Mallorca. I was responsible for solely looking after the child and I always kept the parents updated regarding the child's welfare. I made sure I kept a daily diary of the child's routine e.g. feeding, nap time and nappy changing.
My Qualifications
I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 'Working with Children, Young People and Families'. I gained Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications in Children’s Care, Learning and Development’. In addition, I gained Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications in 'Health and Social Care’.

My Availability
I am currently available on mornings, afternoons and evenings throughout the week. I am available to babysit during weekends.
