My Summary

My Experience

After leaving School and completing my HNC in Childhood Practice, I began working in a Private Nursery in Edinburgh, where I worked for two years. At this nursery I started as a member of the supply team meaning I was able to work and gain experience in all of the rooms covering the age range of 0-5. I then proceeded to work full time within the 2-3 year old room, where i eventually was asked to step up as Room Leader whilst they were looking for a full time candidate. My responsibilities included caring for the welfare of the children in my care and planning activities that the children would both enjoy and developmentally benefit from. Working in the 2-3 year old room also meant I gained experience in Potty Training which has came in really handy on my babysitting journey so far.

After I left the nursery in Edinburgh I moved to another private nursery in Dundee where I worked for 1 year before leaving to attend University. At this nursery I worked as the Room Leader for the 0-2 room, meaning I was able to broaden my knowledge and skills by working with a younger age range.

Even though I am at University I am still continuing my work with children by being a Volunteer Section Beaver Leader. This involves working with children between the ages of 5 1/2 and 8 years old. By being a section leader I am the main point of contact for parents and am responsible for the health and well-being of the children in my care. I currently have children attending my Beavers Section who have ADHD and are non-verbal meaning I have the ability to care for, and work with, children with disabilities and disorders who may need some extra help or attention.

Whilst working at the Edinburgh nursery I began babysitting for some of the children that attended the nursery. I continued to offer this service when I moved to the Dundee nursery and still continue to babysit for family and friends.

My Qualifications

I have a HNC in Childhood Practice, where I received an A overall.

I also have basic and paediatric first aid training which I received whilst working in a Private Nursery.

Over the course of my time working in nurseries I have also completed additional training including Data Protection and Child Welfare courses, as-well as courses relating to disorders including ADHD and Autism.

My Availability

Currently I am available all day everyday but I will be going back to university on the 16th September and therefore after this date I will be available as detailed below.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £10.00 per hour

I charge a standard rate of £10 an hour for up to two children, with additional children costing an extra £2 per child per hour.
