About Me
I am a 24 year old female, and have recently started a new role within the financial service industry as a tax consultant. Before beginning this role I was a secondary school Mathematics teacher from 2020 to 2022 which I loved. Coming from a big family, I have grown up around young cousins, nieces and nephews, I understand the importance of promoting a positive and thriving environment. In my spare time, I enjoy exercise, wider reading and socialising.
My Experience
Before beginning my new role, I was a teacher of Mathematics in a comprehensive secondary school in Bristol. I was responsible for teaching a wide range of children (ages 11-17) with both/or behavioural and SEN needs. This role has not only shown my ability to understand children's educational and emotional needs, but my capability to use this to build effective and successful working relationships with each student, so a tailored and diverse approach is always adopted. Furthermore, teaching a subject which is so fundamental for students and helping them maximise their life opportunities gave me a great sense of pride and fulfilment. I am keen to continue my passion for supporting and working with young people in my spare time. From previous roles with young people, I am acutely aware of safeguarding protocols and in turn am DBS checked. With my experience in adopting and utilising techniques to promote learning and development, I am able to support children in studies/ work. I also have lots of experience in other related roles such as mentoring and working as a team leader for youth programmes such as the National Citizen Service (NCS).
My Qualifications
I am a qualified teacher with a PGDE and I have an undergraduate degree in Mathematics from the University of Bristol.
