About Me
Hello, my name is Sam - I’m an Ofsted registered Childminder and mum to three amazing boys who are aged 9, 6 and 2 years old. My setting is situated next to Beaumont School in the Oaklands (AL4) area of St Albans and I drop off / pickup after school children from Oakwood Primary School.
My setting has a wide selection of toys and activities, with a safe astroturfed garden that is accessible all-year round. There are plenty of ride-ons and play equipment for all ages to enjoy.
I actively engage children in the community and offer diverse interactions from music groups, parks, Willows Farm and playgroups. This ensures all of my minded children get lots of new experiences, surroundings to explore, physical exercise and new friends to play with.
The children all learn the importance of manners, kindness and sharing whilst socialising and interacting with other children and adults. This helps them to develop their confidence and get them ready for the school transition.
My Experience
I am Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) trained, have a Paediatric First Aid certificate and both my husband and I have full DBS. I have attended courses on Safeguarding Children, FGM, PREVENT, Children’s Behaviour Management, Nutrition 1 & 2 and Food Hygiene and keep up-to-date with my personal CPD.
My ethos is to inspire a culture of respect, honesty and kindness and to value the uniqueness of each child’s individual learning needs and interests. This happens through time to play, space to explore and freedom to choose. I aim to provide a nurturing and safe home environment in which your child will thrive and their well-being is at the heart of everything I do.
My Qualifications
Full DBS, Paediatric First Aid, EYFS Ofsted recognised training courses.
My Availability
My setting is open Monday to Thursday, between the hours of 8:30am - 5:30pm all year round. I also offer school drop off, pick-ups and after school care from Oakwood Primary School.
*Please note that I currently have no EYFS or after school spaces available for 2024!

My Fees
- Childminding from £8.50 per hour
I can accept the 9 month to 2 year, 2/3/4 year old funding, 15/30 hours and the government tax free childcare scheme.
