My Experience

I can provide CV upon request but aside from babysitting children of friends and family, I have acquired many skills as an ABA tutor such as:

Effective Communication:
• Working with children with special educational needs and disabilities required the development of effective communication skills, which are essential when delivering instructions or prompts to ensure the child accomplishes the targets that lead to learning new behaviours.
• Acquired exceptional interpersonal skills through interacting with colleagues, customers or emotionally vulnerable clients which aided me in developing positive client relationships.
• Through communication, I learned to calmly de-escalate challenging behaviours, whether it was a dissatisfied client or an Autistic child displaying difficult-to-manage behaviours that needed to be handled with care.

Organisation skills:
• Reported and documented the skills and progress of clients in order to tack and produce a visual representation of their progress on various programmes.
• Exceptional organisation skills required as part of the management team in a retail store as responsible for managing finances and producing an annual budget. Observing and maintaining records of expenditure, sales figures, and employee performance.
• Responsible for planning sessions and programs for students that implemented their individualised targets.

Analytical skills:
• Research: Working as an Applied Behaviour Analysis Tutor allowed me to enhance my research and data collecting skills by regularly collecting data on interventions and analysing their effectiveness.
• Problem solving: When interventions did not work, I often had to apply problem-solving skills because I was responsible for determining what the problem was and then implementing solutions.
