About Me

Outside of the workplace I have many interests. I adore learning and I love to read in particular non-fiction. I love learning about people, the human mind, religions, fashion, art, history and popular culture. I adore poetry, music, opera and ballet. Raised in a large loving family, I love nothing more to than to meet new people from different walks of life. I’m an avid walker and a country girl at heart. In 2017 I organised a charity walk where a group of us were sponsored to walk 24 hours in the cold form one side of London to the other. The sponsored walk from London Heathrow to Essex was an endurance challenge, the aim was to raise 5k for a women’s hospital in Somalia. We managed to raise 3k pounds and we completed the challenge. I was extremely proud of this achievement and I would like to do something similar again.

My Experience

lm, patient and hardworking I currently work as a Learning Support Assistant in West London. I adore working with children and primarily work with children with complex needs. I work with children who suffer from autism, dyslexia and down's syndrome.
My commitment, generosity, loyalty and hard work is demonstrated in my volunteering work. This is something that I am deeply proud of. For over 5 years I have been volunteering at St Mungos as a mental health support worker. At St Mungos I work with people who have serious mental health conditions such as bipolar, borderline personality disorder and schizophrenia. I work at a medium to high support hostel which houses 12 adults aged between 27 and 60. The role can be challenging but as I have academic interests in mental health and psychology I find it interesting, fun and highly rewarding.

With a wealth of support worker experience and having managed young people hostel for over 15 years, I know I will be an assets to your organisation and perfect for this role.

My Qualifications

I have a law degrees with law and politics from Keele university in Staffordshire and over 20 years experience of supporting vulnerable people. I am first aid trainers and have completed various courses such as Brief Solution Focused Therapy, anger management and I am ESOL English language teacher.
