About Me
Hi, I'm Lilly and I'm currently a second year Chemical Engineering student at the University of Edinburgh. I moved up to Scotland from a smaller town in the centre of England mid-September last year and I have loved every single second of my time here so far. From sports (primarily badminton and netball) to cooking with my flatmates and friends, I'd say for sure that a list of my interests would be exhaustive - I love trying new things. Though I do have some experience in childcare (my mum has worked in several nurseries over the years where, upon occasion, I have been called in to help out/I have babysat for family friends), I'd consider filling in this application to be the first step towards my next new adventure.
My Experience
I have a sister 5 years my junior and so, as I have grown up around her and her friends, I've progressed through the stages of babysitting them to, these days, pretty much just chauffeuring them around.
As I've mentioned in the 'About me' section, my mother has worked in nurseries and primary schools since I was about ten years old. If they were to host any sort of event, for example a couple of times they planned to go to the theatre, I signed up as a chaperone to help in keeping the day running smoothly.
Lastly, I have completed both the Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh awards, both of which required three months of volunteering. What began as giving two hours per week of my time to get a tick in the completion box turned into a valued part of my schedule - I ended up continuing with (for bronze) volunteering as a girl-guiding leader at the local Brownies troupe and (for silver) volunteering as a primary school netball team coach for six months apiece.
My Qualifications
Babysitting-wise, I have none; however, I feel that the traits portrayed by my academic qualifications are transferable here in that they require the same self-discipline and dedication as this role.

My Availability
I am in and out of lectures, seminars and labs every weekday for University as well as working at Lidl every Wednesday and Sunday, hence my availability being exclusively Saturdays.
