My Summary
About Me
I am a qualified and ofsted registered childminder with a grading of good with outstanding elements . I have my level 3 NVQ in Childcare, and i have a diploma in Childcare. am 45 years old l have been in childcare since leaving school, so my time in the industry is extensive, and it's coming up to 25 years in numerous childcare settings. I live with my husband and we have been together 20 years and we have a son who is 16 years old. We also have a small cockerpoo dog who is 9 years old
Positions I have available are 2 spaces full time for a child, not in school. (birth to 4 yrs) available.
The first and foremost important part of being a childminder is the health, safety, and well-being of the children within my care. I also strongly believe that fresh is best when it comes to meal times, so all meals will be homemade using the freshest ingredients, snacks will be fruit or sticks of vegetables, i.e... carrots, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, etc, and yoghurts. A daily record of everything the child has eaten will be provided to the parents each day. My daily routines will include going out to the local park, library, and child/toddler groups. Activities at home will include mark marking (drawing, painting, etc), sticking, and other academic activities. I will aim to provide all-around care and development to all children in my care. This will be based on all areas of the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) framework.
My Experience
When I left school at 16 I began working in the childcare sector moslty in nursery settings, I have also worked as a private nanny looking after two children who were aged 3 and 6 months old, and i spent 3 years there until the parents moved away. Following that I have had numerous other roles in nurseries as a nursery nurse, one position I held was more senior as an assistant manager.
More recent experience i have was within a school as an Early Years Practitioner (Nursery Nurse) in the nursery working alongside the teacher to support the children in the nursery.
I have now left the school to look after my son and begin a long career in childminding.I have now been Childminding for 10 years and i absolutely love it.

We have been with Katie since the beginning of November 2022. I am so glad to have found Katie after an awful experience with another childminder. My child settled really well with Katie very quickly. He has come on in leaps and bounds. His speech improved within a few weeks of being there, he can count to 10 now and knows his colours. Katie really does put the effort in and follows the national learning curriculum to get them ready for nursery or reception. Katie also does fun activities like taking them to the park, playgroup and soft play every week. My child loves it and often looks forward to going to Katie’s. She is reliable and trustworthy. She has been a blessing to my family. The house setting is like a home from home. Full of different activities for the children to do. My child will often come home with pictures, cards etc. we always get a full report of how our child has been throughout the day and will get photos of the fun things he has done. He never comes home hungry and has been a happy little boy with Katie. If your looking for a childminder in the eltham area I would highly recommend Katie. She has been amazing. We will be sad to let her go but unfortunately it’s time for my child to move up to the next stage of school. We would like to say a big thank you to Katie. If we could keep you forever we would.
I was lucky enough to find Katie in 2020 just after covid restrictions were lifted for childcare through a recommendation from another Childminder. Even though Katie was 5 miles away from us, the journey has never been a standing block as the benefits of having Oliver in Katie's care outweighs anything else.
Katie has been absolutely amazing with Oliver and has brought the best out of him. They are out everyday engaging in great activities from farms, parks, library visits, church playgroups, local attractions etc. This has broadened Oliver's social experiences and made it very easy to settle in new settings such kids clubs when we are on holidays.
Katie has also helped a great deal in getting him to try different meals that he was not keen on at home. Katie also provides feedback at the end of everyday and i particularly look forward to the pictures.
I have absolute trust in Katie's competence as well as her genuine sweet spirit and the love she has for the children which is evident in the way she interacts with all the children under her care.
Katie has been a great second mum to Olly and i cannot recommend her enough!
Katie has been my daughter’s childminder since summer 2021. I’d been on maternity leave, and out of work for a few months after that owing to the pandemic. When I secured a new job, it happened very quickly and I had to find a childminder fast.
I liked Katie’s profile and made contact, we had an initial meeting and not only did Katie provide everything I was looking for in a childminder, we gelled quite well.
I was quite concerned about leaving my daughter, having been at home for 15 months and also because lockdown had limited our social interactions, but I needn’t have worried.
The first settling in session went well, there weren’t any tears until it was almost time for pick up, then when she started full time, my daughter was fully settled after a week or two.
Katie has been brilliant and my daughter absolutely loves being with her and the other children in Katie’s setting. Not forgetting Bailey to cockerpoo.Katie makes a point of getting out with the children most days, weather permitting and engages the children in craft and other fun activities.
My daughter is soon off to nursery so sadly we’ll be saying goodbye to Katie, but I highly recommend her as a childminder.
We’ll miss you Katie!
We were really happy and lucky to have Katie as a childminder.
She was warmly recommended by another childminder, and she helped us when we need to find a childminder for our daughter for 1 day a week she is nice and flexible that is really appreciated.
Our Daughter was really happy with her and she made a lot of great activities inside as outside and developed a lovely relationship with other children.
She always sends photos and comments that is lovely.
We are sad to leave Katie due to a move outside Uk.
We warmly recommend Katie.
We are so happy and lucky to have found Katie.
She was able to take our little pandemic baby from just 3 months old and provided us with the support we needed with no family around us at such a difficult time.
We visited many childminders in the area and Katie’s kind, caring and professional nature and inviting setting won us over.
Leo has come heaps and bounds since he’s been in her care, interacting with Bailey the doggy and the other gorgeous children there who love looking after the ‘baby’ with her. Katie sends us written and photo updates every day of what Leo’s been up to so we don’t feel like we’re missing out. She’s been helping with weaning, sleep training, sitting up, crawling… all the milestones.
We’re extremely sad to leave Katie due to a job relocation, it will be impossible to replace our ‘fairy godmother’.
