About Me
Hi! I am a 21 year old qualified teacher with over five years of childcare experience. I graduated from the University of Winchester as a qualified teacher specialising in early years education in November 2023. Since graduating, I have taken on a role as a Kindergarten Senior Educator in a Worthing nursery, which I am thoroughly enjoying, in particular learning about the nursery and its Reggio Emilia approach. I have always known I wanted to work with children, whether that be a teacher or within childcare. I have chosen childcare/nursery as a preferred setting due to the independence, creativity, and opportunities for child-based learning that nurseries provide in comparison to schools that must follow the curriculum in a regimented way that does not allow time or space to incorporate children's interests or individuality. I first volunteered with children at my local library in 2017, and have worked with children in different scenarios and settings ever since. I am hugely passionate about providing opportunities for a wide range of play, including sensory, imaginative, role-play, independent, and creative.
My Experience
I am a fully qualified teacher, specialising in early years education. Therefore, I have completed teaching placements in schools with children aged 4-8 as a key focus, but I have other experience working with children from birth-14. I have worked as a summer camp group leader for three years in a row, leading a group of children in daily activities and routines. I also have experience working in three different nurseries, which has enabled me to experience a variety of early years teaching and learning opportunities and has provided me with a solid understanding of Montessori and Reggio Emilia approaches. I have also volunteered with children as a Girlguiding Young Leader at a Rainbows group and at a local library as a Summer Reading Challenge volunteer for three years. Overall, I have a range of both teaching and childcare experiences from a variety of settings and placements, which have provided me with the confidence and capability to offer outstanding childcare and support for children of all ages.
My Qualifications
I have an enhanced DBS on the Update Service. I have qualified teacher status, specialising in Early Years education. I am paediatric first aid trained trained with St John's Ambulance. I have completed Level 2 Safeguarding and Food and Hygiene training in relation to working with children and caring for health and wellbeing needs.
My Availability
I work full time at a nursery as a senior educator in the Kindergarten room, with children aged 3/4. Every week I get one full weekday off, and am flexible with my evenings after 7pm. I have fully flexible availability at the weekends during the day, evening and overnight. I will always do my best to meet the needs of the parents/carers.
