About Me
I am a hard working athlete with the passion to inspire the next generation to use their talents. My athletics accolades gave me the privilege to study abroad on a full-ride scholarship in the States while getting my degree in Psychology. I was able to meet and work with other international athletes and pupils. My passion for kids has always been there as I grow up with many cousins, nephews and nieces younger than me. I was babysat numerous of kids for years, some relatives simply recommended to me. I enjoy working with kids as I also get to learn from them.
My Experience
I've worked as Teaching assistant for few months and it has build my character. This experience provided one-on-one assistance to students with special needs, resulting in improved academic performance. Conducting small group tutoring sessions and to help struggling students with phonics. I also learned to communicate with nonverbal pupils, in order to meet their educational needs. I learnt to use positive reinforcement with pupil as I got to monitor their behaviour and provided positive feedback and encouragement to help them during with spellings sessions.
Back in 2014 I worked as an assistant coach since High school while being a student-athlete. I have learned how to multitask my responsibilities as an athlete and as a student. I have learned to be an excellent communicator with my coaches and the kids I was coaching, getting down to their levels to explain the exercises. I learn to manage my time well and must be organised with balancing all I was doing. Coaching has build my confidence in leading younger people and building a bond of trust and mutual respect.
My Qualifications
I've recently graduated with a degree in psychology in the states, Houston Texas. Before that I got A-levels and GCSEs here in London.
