About Me
Hello! I'm Lizzy.
I've been an Ofsted registered childminder since 2013 and am now a mum to 3.
I am extremely passionate about offering the children in my care exciting and enriching experiences, in a safe, caring and comforting environment. My inspiration comes from several child care genres, including Forest School, Hygee and Montessori.
Resources and activities here are planned to support children's development within the EYFS framework whilst encouraging both mindfulness and lateral thinking along the way.
We meet up and share ideas with other childminding settings, increasing socialisation potential whilst keeping a small, home from home feeling at the core of our setting.

My Experience
Ten years working as a childminder and a mum of three.
My Qualifications
up to date first aid trained, Safeguarding training and relevant CYPOP5 childminding qualification.
Previously I have studied (and qualified) with an honours degree in Biology. I also have A levels and As levels in Psychology, Sociology, Critical Thinking, Biology, Chemistry and Film Studies. I still have a keen interest in these subjects and find that many of them have been useful when working with children.

Lizzie has been an integral part of our family for the past five years, caring for both of my children who possess completely opposite personalities. One is inherently shy and cautious, while the other confident and energetic. Despite the stark differences, Lizzie has effortlessly tailored her care to suit each child's unique needs, ensuring they always felt cherished, protected, and nurtured.
One of Lizzie's qualities is her adaptability. She seamlessly adjusts her approach to accommodate the individual requirements of each child, fostering an environment where they feel valued and understood. Her commitment to prioritising health and safety aligns perfectly with current guidelines and advice, providing parents with peace of mind knowing their children are in capable hands.
Moreover, Lizzie stays up to date with the latest government advice and research, willingly sharing her knowledge with parents. Her dedication to staying informed underscores her genuine concern for the well-being and development of the children under her care. Her communication is brilliant, offering detailed insights into the children's daily activities and milestones. This attentiveness reflects her deep understanding of their developmental, behavioural, and physical needs.

Lizzy is amazing!
She had looked after my son from a toddler to school age in a previous setting and we couldn’t believe our luck to find her available again to look after our baby.
She is caring and attentive, our little girl has just turned 1yrs and doesn’t have many words, but Lizzy can read her cues and communicate with her as well as any family member does.
She has a wealth of experience as well as being a mother herself. She is kind, inventive and passionate about child development.
Lizzy has such a wonderful holistic approach to the children in her care, she keeps play fun and adventurous whilst always ensuring that the children feel secure and happy.
I couldn’t ask for better communication from her; I work long hours as a nurse in a hospital an hour away. Yet despite this, I feel reassured that my little girl is in safe hands and is completely cared for.
Lizzy uses a secure app we have updating us throughout the day regarding her progress, nutrition, hygiene and photographs of their day.
Lizzy provides home cooked nutritious meals for our baby girl, and has helped widen her range of food. She was a very fussy baby to wean but is now eating well!
My son is now 7yrs old and still fondly remembers his preschool care with Lizzy. He started reception being able to read and with mathematics skills far beyond expectation. This was largely in part due to the input from Lizzy incorporating education seamlessly into fun.
I am so grateful to have her as part of my children’s lives. She’s an absolute gem!

Lizzy took great care with both of my children until they started school. They thrived in her care. Lizzy is patient, kind and nurturing. They always enjoyed the activities or themes that Lizzy created, as well as appreciating the solid routine. I recommend Lizzy as a wonderful childminder.
