About Me
I am currently a student at Edinburgh College of Art and find that this year I've got quite a bit of spare time that I could put to use in helping others and earning some money. I come from a small farm in Aberdeenshire and have a passion for art, I wish to become an art teacher. I am respectful and responsible so will carefully look after your child/children and your home.
My Experience
I worked at a Primary school for a year helping a class teacher and also did a course on Children and Young People, this included important issues on safeguarding and also play strategies. I really enjoyed working with the children at the school and felt caring for them came very naturally to me. This experience gave me excellent communication skills with children and with staff and taught me how to act professional in a workplace. I also have experience as a leader at my martial arts club, here I assist the children in learning the sport and help them progress, they feel encouraged and welcomed. Additionally, I have tutored someone in National 5 English, they were predicted a C but with my help they attained an a grade.
My Qualifications
I have got a Foundation apprenticeship in Children and Young People. B for Advanced Higher English, A for Advanced Higher Art. Higher Chemistry, PE, English, Maths and Art all at an A grade. National 5 Maths, English, Physics, Chemistry, Art and Design and Manufacture all at A grade. Undergraduate at Edinburgh College of Art for Fine Art. I have a PVG form.
My Availability
As an art student I have lots of free time to work on my art but I am finding this is too much time, I am free most afternoons and Thursday and Friday all day as I have no classes. The weekend is also free to me but I occasionally go home (about once a month). I am trying to avoid evenings as depending on where the job is I'm not too comfortable getting home at night on my own but if the job is near then evenings are also free.
