About Me
My name is Katie and my business is called Humphrey's Childminding Services, I am a Good graded OFSTED registered network childminder. I live with my husband, daughter and son. Nala the dog is also part of our household who loves to be around people. I have lived in the Waterlooville area since 2002 and used to be a dental nurse until my daughter came along in 2008.
I decided to become a childminder in 2009 because I love being with my daughter and son and helping them to achieve and develop. I would like to do the same with other children and encourage them to learn and develop to reach their full potential by working in partnership with parents and child.
I offer a range of activities such as visits to the toy library, baby and toddler groups, soft play areas, city farms, local parks and walks, all with your permission, messy play, cookery, outdoor play, access to a computer and T.V.
All meals can be provided but you are welcome to provide these.
My Experience
I am a full time Mum to my daughter and son, and have followed the Early Years Foundation Stage with them.
I was a registered Network childminder since 2009. (Being a network childminder means that I will be assessed and monitored to the standards of the National Childminding Association Quality Childminding Charter, ensuring a high quality childminding care and education service to families.) The network has now been abolished due to government changes.
My Qualifications
02/03/2009 CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Home-Based childcare unit 1 (2 credits at level 3)
05/01/2011 CACHE level 3 Diploma in Home-Based Childcare units 2-5 which has enabled me to become quality assured.
3 Yearly paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene, advanced child protection.
CAF awareness, health and safety and manual handling.
I attend group training sessions and webinars on a regular basis and SFYC monthly bulletin to keep up to date.
22/09/2023 AllergyWise for Early Years Settings, which is for anaphylaxis.
07/02/2024 I have qualified as a Level 3 Early Years Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator (EYSENCO)
15/07/24 I have completed an Early Years Professional Development Programme (EYPDP) over 8 months to improve teaching quality and gain new ideas for activities I offer.
My Availability
1 space is becoming available for Term Time only Monday and Wednesday from September 2025.

Our daughter has been going to Katie’s house after school for the past 18 months. Katie is an outstanding childminder. She is reliable, organised, caring, fun and just lovely with all the children in her care. After getting to know Katie well I can honestly say Katie cares so much about making sure the children are safe, happy and constantly developing when with her.
Our daughter loves going to Katie’s house after school. The children in Katie’s care are all well behaved and get on as friends so it is like a play date to her. Katie always has fun, structured activities for her to do after school and she always has such a great time.
I would thoroughly recommend Katie a childminder and so would my daughter.

We have been with Katie for a few months. She looks after my baby 3 days and provides wrap around care for my Yr R child. From the start Katie was very friendly but professional. She was keen to understand how our family works so she can provide experiences for my children which mirror our life at home. Katie welcomed the children and the parents into her home and has treated the children like family. I love how Katie will challenge the children to further support their development.
Starting with Katie has been a huge success and feel she will be a part of our family for many years to come. An absolute diamond of a childminder & we couldn’t have found anyone better to care for our children.

Katie has been looking after our 1 year old daughter for the past 4months and in that time the care and development that Katie has invested in her has been outstanding.
With my partner being in the armed forces , Katie has been a huge support to us both in a professional and personal capacity. Allowing flexibility when needed.
My daughter settled straight away and really enjoys her time with Katie, so much so sometimes she doesn’t want to leave. What we like about Katie is the dedication to our daughters development . She writes a daily diary to keep us up to date , plus a development folder for us to track , review and importantly work together on my daughters development. She also has lots of fun! With trips to local play groups and Staunton farm.
We would definitely recommend Katie as a childminder.

My son is currently looked after by Katie and, as this was my first experience of using a childminder, I was quite anxious about leaving my clingy 18 month old with a stranger. However I needn't have worried! After a week of tearful farewells and lots of patience from Katie, he now regards Katie's house as his second home, not even looking back when I drop him off.
Katie is patient and welcoming and her genuine affection and interest in your child is obvious to see.
I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Humphrey's Childminding Services to anyone x
