A presentable, self-motivated and conscientious child practitioner with nearly 15 years of experience within the industry. Having been privileged to work as a play worker, providing a stimulating, encouraging safe atmosphere for each child’s individual needs, using exciting innovative activities and resources, for both indoor and outdoor environments. After School & Holiday Club 2016 – date

Setting up and running a primary after school and holiday club to a high standard, ensuring the implementation of the EYFS, dealing with parents/carers/ building good relations and working/supporting my staff team. Some of my key responsibilities were:

• Oversee arrangements for collection and collect children from school off site to Club and ensure any absent children are accounted for.
• Keeping records on individual children, including daily observations and information about activities, light snack prepared, and medications administered.
• Ensuring all paperwork is stocked, kept tidily, filled in neatly & fully stored appropriately and all children present have up to date forms.
• Plan and organise activities in advance to each child’s individual needs and keeping clear records of these plans.
• In-depth and up-to-date knowledge of relevant principles, practices and techniques.
• Ensuring the site meets Ofsted EYFS standards and Health & Safety requirements and where possible standards are raised.
• Monitoring & dealing with inappropriate behaviour according to policy guidelines & those of the law.
• Leading Weekly Team Meetings and Holiday Club Meetings.
• Key working effectively, building & maintaining positive relationships with families, keeping tidy and accurate records up to date, planning personalised play and evaluating it for further play opportunities.
• Supporting, supervising and managing my colleagues in their responsibilities as necessary ensuring high standards are maintained and to take appropriate action if a member of staff is not meeting their job description to the best of their ability.

Deputy Manager
2014 – 2016

Supporting the manager with general day to day running of the setting, ensuring the high standards of the setting were maintained, through providing a safe and secure environment for children aged 4 – 12 after school, and during the holidays. Responsibilities were:

• Supporting the Manager in the above and covering the Manager’s role in their absence.
• Assisting colleagues in their responsibilities as necessary (school pick-ups, plan, organise and lead activities etc)
• Attending & participating in weekly staff team meetings.
• Helping set up and tidy away effectively, keeping stock rooms and cupboards organized and tidy and helping with the preparation and clearing away of snack.
• Ensuring that Club policies and the Early Years Foundation Stage are adhered to at all times.
• Instructing children in health and personal habits such as eating, washing hands and toilet habits.
• Interacting positively, calmly & cheerfully with the children, ensuring their overall happiness and well-being!!

Assisted the manager, and other staff ensuring the smooth running and implementation of activities to provide to primary school children. Some of my key responsibilities were:

• Giving children appropriate help and support when needed and responding sensitively to children’s verbal and non-verbal signals.
