About Me
My name is Skyla and I live in the West Sussex area with my partner. I currently work in a local Secondary school and am looking to offer childcare services throughout the duration of the Summer half term.
I have been working with children and young people for the past nine years and have experience teaching SEN/SEMH (Special Educational Needs and Social, Emotional and Mental Health). I am passionate about promoting children and young peoples' individual independence and personal developmental milestones and have established excellent communication skills.
As a young girl, I have always aspired to work with young children and have remained
consistent within this throughout my adult career. I am keen for children and young people to grow and achieve academically, mentally and physically. I have found my previous job roles
to be fulfilling and rewarding - this is demonstrated by stimulating young peoples’ interest and love for learning by motivating them to want to succeed and explore their personal
interests and future goals. I understand the importance of creating a challenging, fun and safe environment for young people and enjoy building strong rapports and trust between the children I care for and their families.
I can provide an enhanced DBS certificate, right to work in UK, NI number, Photo ID,
relevant training certificates (including safeguarding and first aid) and employment and character references.
My Experience
- KTA Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship – Two Distinctions Achieved (July 2022).
- Three years’ teaching experience including Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties (SEMH).
- Enhanced DBS certificate.
- Certificates obtained from mandatory training courses.
- Behaviour management skills and experience.
